Welcome Kim & Cecelia!
Kim Hirschfeld-Cotton, a York County 4-H Alum, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Master of Arts degrees in Curriculum, Instruction , and Assessment and Middle Level Math from the University of Nebraska. She has been teaching for 24 years and currently teaches 6th grade math at York Middle School and coaches volleyball and track. She is the proud mother of two children, Chase and Addison. Kim’s free time is occupied with following her children’s sports activities and helping them with their 4-H projects. As a 13 year 4-H member, she is passionate about sharing her love of 4-H and all that she learned from it with her children and all 4-H members. She spent her high school and college summers as the York County 4-H summer intern and is excited to continue the fun.
Cecelia King is a 2018 Shelby- Rising City graduate and attends the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. She is a 4-H alumnus and volunteer in Polk County. While in 4-H Cecelia participated in photography, clothing design, swine, home design, horticulture, and baking. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friend and family and Netflix marathons.

As usual, sign up early to get your favorite spot before they fill up. Please sign up by July 5. It is expected that at least one person from every family works at least one shift!
REMINDER: PLEASE WEAR CLOSED TOE SHOES AND A HAT OF SOME KIND.
The 4-H Foodstand is a major fundraiser for the York County 4-H Program. The money raised will go directly to York County 4-Hers through scholarships, workshops and other learning opportunities.
Nebraska State 4-H Dog Show
The 2019 Nebraska State 4-H Dog Show will be held in Lincoln, NE at the UNL Animal Science Complex on Saturday, September 7th. Join us for an informational webinar on the changes for the 2019 Nebraska State 4-H Dog Show on June 4th at 5:30 pm CST. This webinar will give background on the move, information on the new location, show schedule, and plan for the event. We will also be seeking input for the 2020 4-H Dog Show. This informational webinar is open to all – please share this information with your 4-H families.

All youth ages 8-18 enrolled in any of the following animal projects will need to complete YQCA training: • Beef (bucket calf, feeder calf, breeding beef, market beef) • Dairy cattle • Goat (breeding meat goat, dairy goat, meat goat) • Poultry • Rabbit • Sheep (breeding sheep, market sheep) • Swine (breeding swine, market swine)
Youth must be currently enrolled at https://ne.4honline.com
Complete online training at https://yqca.learngrow.io. Cost is $12. For directions and more information, visit https://4h.unl.edu/yqca. Once training is complete, send completed certificates to Tanya Crawford, tanya.crawford@unl.edu or drop off at the Extension Office. If certificates are not submitted, we have no way of knowing if trainings have been completed. No certificate = No Certification
Deadline to complete Youth for Quality Care of Animals (Quality Assurance) is June 15.
