A Note From the Director
Next week marks the beginning of Lent. Tuesday we will have a Mardi Gras parade at 8:30am in the gym. On Wednesday the children will have a short Ash Wednesday service at the chapel. Our collection for Catholic Charities also begins next week. See below for more details.
Classes are celebrating Dr. Seuss next week. Please check your class Facebook pages for details.
Tuesday, March 1st, is a makeup Chick Fil A lunch for the February 4th snow day. If your child ordered Chick Fil A on February 4th, but does not attend school on Tuesday, March 1st, you will be credited a refund.
Marquette will be in session on April 18th (Easter Monday), as a make-up day for the snow day.

Mardi Gras!
Mardi Gras is just around the corner! I invite all of you to celebrate with us on Fat Tuesday, March 1st, at 8:30am. If you have a wagon/stroller/cart/bicycle/etc., you may decorate it as a "float" and bring it to school (please take the floats home immediately following the parade). Children may wear costumes, crowns, masks, or free dress. We will parade around the gym and throw beads to our spectators. Afterward we will enjoy king cake in the classrooms. Remember the three colors of Mardi Gras: purple stands for justice, green for faith, and gold for power.
Lenten Project
During Lent, ECDC will collect baby items to donate to Catholic Charities. See the flyer below for more information.
Summer Play Days 2022
Summer Play Days registration will begin March 1st. We will hold two, three week sessions on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays from 9am to 2pm.
Session One: June 6-June 24
Session Two: July 6-July 22
The cost is $50 per day. Children enrolling in PK3 next year may attend as long as they are potty trained. Questions? Contact Mrs. Bergner or Mrs. McGough.

Volunteering and VIRTUS
Each year, we rely on volunteers to help support classroom and school activities, field trips, fundraising activities, athletics and much more. Volunteers play a critical role at Marquette, and we appreciate your dedication, time and talent.
What you need to do:
- First, VIRTUS Child & Youth Protection Requirements have three components: 1.) the background check submission 2.) adherence to policies, procedures, and ethical standards, and 3.) the child & youth protection education training. Each component needs to be renewed every five years.
- Registration for First-time Users:
- Visit www.virtusonline.org.
- Select “First-Time Registrant” to create an online VIRTUS account.
- Follow the onscreen step-by-step instructions for completing the process. We require all volunteers to start this process no later than two week before the date of volunteering.

- Update Existing Account:
- Registered volunteers are encouraged to login at the beginning of every school year to ensure that all personal information is correct. Upon login, your account will prompt you to complete any necessary requirements. Automated emails are sent through VIRTUS approximately one week before they expire. Please ensure that the registered email address is correct.
