- Choose to send the notes to your email or Google Drive or OneDrive.
- A picture of all of the slides will be in the notes. PDF documents, 3D animations, field trips, etc. will also be available.
Important: In order for the Student Notes feature to work, the teacher must enable it.
- Log on to Nearpod.
- Click on your account setting icon in the upper right-hand side of the screen (your picture or a circle).
- Click on the gear next to your name.
- Select Advanced.
- Slide the toggle button to Enable Student Notes.
Now your students should be able to take and save their notes from your lessons.
Are you training other educators using Nearpod? Have them use the Notes feature to have access to your presentation! Also, if you have your handout as a PDF in your presentation, they will have access to it later.

Adding Graphic Organizers to a Draw It Slide
- Open this blog post by Eric Curts.
- Find the Graphic Organizer you want to add to Nearpod.
- Click on the link above the graphic organizer to access it.
- Click Make a Copy to add the file to your Google Drive.
- If the image is in portrait mode, you will need to go to File, Page Setup and select Standard 4-3. This will change the image to landscape mode.
- Select File, Download as a PNG or JPeg image.
- In Nearpod, upload the graphic organizer form your Downloads folder to a Draw It slide.
Note - Any graphic organizer that can be downloaded as a JPeg, PNG or PDF can be added to a Draw It slide. Images that are in landscape mode work better than images in portrait mode.
Add Conversion Calculators or Translation Dictionaries as Reference Media
Adding a website as a Supporting Media Reference provides the students with a quick way to access a tool that can help them answer a question. For example, you might include a link to a translation dictionary in a foreign language class on an Open-Ended Question slide that asks them to write down words they might use in a restaurant in Spain. The students can write the words in English and then click on the Reference Media (translation dictionary) to find the words in Spanish.
To add a URL as a Reference Media:
- Select the type of Activity you want to use. Options include: Open Ended Question, Poll, Quiz and Draw It.
- Click on the small image that is either before or after the question.
- Select Web Content from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the URL for the site you want the students to access. It is always a good practice to test the link before you proceed.
- Click Save.
- Continue creating your Activity slide.
