Hello Ridgeline Families- This week I’d like to highlight two important activities happening. First, is the Unity in the Community Blanket Night on December 09, 5:30-8:00pm. All students are invited to participate in this charitable event where fleece blankets are hand-tied in preparation to be gifted to homeless people and foster children in our community.

Next, we have started our after school tutoring program. It runs Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:30-4:00. It is open to any student and teacher support as well as student mentor support is available. I’d encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities if it makes sense for your child.

Finally, I’m asking for your help again today to do your part in the parent pick-up/drop-off area before and after school. Please don’t park along streets where you may end of blocking traffic or creating a single lane where there should be two. Also, please do not obstruct the roundabout or any entrances/exits that feed the roundabout. While the lanes immediately in front of the school are designed to allow you to pass cars that are pulled over to drop off so you can pull in front of them, we ask that you do not drop off and pick up in the “through” lane. It’s dangerous for students and clogs traffic. I do consider all your calls and email about this matter. Ultimately, it is up to the individual to do their part and not be “that guy”.

What: Making Tied Fleece Blankets

Why: To donate to the homeless and foster care children in our community

What we need:

• 2 yard pieces of polar fleece (Each blanket needs two 2yd pieces)

• 1 ½ -2” wide rolls of ribbon

• New socks, hats, gloves to donate

• Monetary donations (with the notation that it’s for blanket making)

Donations can be dropped off at the offices of Ridgeline, University and Mica Peak High Schools or bring them the night of the event to Ridgeline.

Debate students are planning to attend the Feline Frenzy speech and debate tournament: TODAY, Friday, December 3rd at RHS via Zoom, 3:30-8:30 and Saturday at Mt. Spokane High School, starting at 7:00 a.m.

The season is scored as a whole, and we are off to a good start and look forward to hosting the next match on Dec 11th here in the RHS commons.
