Gum Day - Wednesday, May 22
On Wednesday, May 22, the Student Council will sponsor a Bubble-Gum Day. The money we make from this event will go to help a Sunflower Family.
We will sell 1 piece for $1.00 or 2 pieces for $2.00. The student can also bring their own gum and still pay $1.00. The passes will be sold first thing in the morning on the stage. All of the proceeds from the gum sale will go to support our Sunflower Eagle fund that is used to help a Sunflower family in need.
With the purchase of the gum pass, that student will receive a special stamp on the hand and be allowed to chew gum throughout the day.
In order for this event to be a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone, we have two expectations. Our expectations for the gum include: the gum is to be in your mouth or in the trash (we don't want any gum to find its way to the floor, desks, or walls) and if the gum is being played with, the student's pass will be removed for the day.
Thank you for your continued support of our Sunflower Eagle fund at Sunflower!

FIELD DAY FUN!
END OF THE YEAR CELEBRATION SCHEDULE (repeat)
Nurse's Notes (repeat)
As the school year comes to a close, please make arrangements to pick up your student’s medication on their last day of school. All medications have to be picked up from the Health Room by a parent, guardian, or someone on your emergency contact list. The Health Room will be open all day on May 24.
If your student is participating in summer school, make sure to take any needed medication along with doctor’s orders to the school they will be attending on the first day of summer school.
We need new physician orders for all action plans/orders at the beginning of each new school year: Food Allergy, Seizure, and Asthma Action Plans, along with Diabetes orders. The physician has to sign these action plans/orders every new school year. Some of the action plans also require a parent/guardian signature.
When school starts in August, we will need new emergency medications that are not expired, with a new physician order. All prescription medication must be in a pharmacy labeled bottle with student name, medication name, and proper dosing instructions. This includes medication that is being dropped off throughout the school year to replenish supply of meds already in health room. All medications will be hand delivered and/or picked up by parent, guardian or someone on emergency contact list throughout the entire school year.
If your child has a food allergy, paperwork is also available if desired for modifications to be made to meals/drinks provided by district food services. Depending on the needs of your child, doctor and/or parent signature is required, and updated paperwork must be completed annually for each new school year. Please contact Nutrition Services at 856-2066 or your Health Room to help guide you in this process.
