Ain't I A Woman
spoken by Sojourner Truth
May 29, 1851
Summary: This speech is about feminism and racism. She wants to know why she can’t get helped out of a carriage and why no one will help her over a mud-puddle. She knows it was because she was black, but she knows she is a woman. She also knows she is just as strong as any man because of all the hard work she has done, and in the end she doesn’t need help because she is strong.
