The beauty of children- Semper Fi
Note from the Principal,
The Ceremony in DC was amazing! The Secretary of Education, Dr. King spoke to us about the need to have our children learn about their civic duty of being good citizens, serving others and learning about government. He also shared the need for schools to help children be problem solvers and innovators. In the back of my head I thought about the Marketplace that will be taking place in March where our students will create a business, market their product, sell their product and then donate their proceeds to a cause in the local area! I am so thankful that we have a community that supports our innovative projects and a staff willing to allow for risk taking to occur in the classroom!
This week was action packed with the school book fair, breakfast for our staff on Monday, Tuesday was the Night Zookeeper (an engaging online writing resource for students), Wednesday was blue day and bring a stuffed friend to school (the sea of blue in our building was beautiful), Thursday was dress your best for the Mayor, Chief of Police and Superintendent and Friday was Career Day. We have celebrated and been blessed by your kind remarks.
On Monday, we will be hosting our school board at Geist Elementary for a special celebration of our staff! We are honored that the GES Choir has been asked to sing at this special celebration for our National Blue Ribbon Award. That night, we will also have special guests Senator Donnelly and Congresswoman Brooks enjoying time with our staff.
Thank you for your continued support of our school and the staff! We make a great team! I do hope each of you enjoy the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. What a wonderful time to pause and show thanks for all that we have!
Feeling blessed and thankful,

WILL YOU RISE TO THE CHALLENGE?
Next week, we are asking all HSE Schools champions to rise! Not only do we have 24 hours to shower our schools, faculty, and staff with compliments, but thanks to this team of local philanthropist you can double your donation! Every dollar donated to HSE Schools Foundation on Giving Tuesday will be matched up to $21,000. That means double the impact for literacy, STEM, mental health, social justice, fitness, and more!
Help us reach that $21,000 goal on Tuesday, November 29 by visiting www.hsefoundation.org to make a gift of any size. And don’t forget to give a special shout out to that special teacher, coach, bus driver, counselor, nurse, custodian, or staff member.
And join us in thanking David Becker, Will Bryan, Kevin Clasen, Bud and Karen Colglazier, John and Amy DeLucia, Joe and Florie Eaton, Michelle and Greg Fullhart, The Henderson Family, Todd Huston, Jon and Kyle Kroehler, Tom and Tricia Long, Greg McDaniel, Kurt and Cathy Meyer, Tracy Mills, Mike and Paula Peterson, Gary Reynolds, Sundesh and Sneha Shah, Susan Binford Taylor, Corby Thompson, Greg and Charron Wright for their commitment to every student, every grade, every school!
