The Manning Weekly Newsletter
January 10, 2020
Dear Families,
Welcome back to school! It is wonderful to have kids back in our building again.
Please remember that first round choice enrollment closes next week on January 15, 2020 and that the system will send out acceptance offers to families who have submitted a choice enrollment application in late January.
Thanks, as always, for sharing your kids with us. It is our honor to serve them.

Special Schedule for Next Week!
Our students have the opportunity next Thursday, January 16 to participate in the Mizel Museum's "At the Table with Dr. King," a one-hour dramatic presentation -using live music, spoken word, and multi-media to bring to life Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Knock at Midnight" and portions of America's Civil Rights Movement. Challenging audiences to listen for and respond to the unique call upon their lives to serve others for the betterment of their communities.
Because of that presentation, we will have a special schedule next week:
Monday and Wednesday will be block days with periods 2, 4 and 6.
Tuesday and FRIDAY will be block days with periods 1, 3, 5, and 7.
Thursday, January 16 will be a skinny day with all seven periods.
Attention 8th Grade Families: Poetry Cafe is Coming!
Ms. Keodonexay's classes: a sign up genius will be sent to parents a week before the cafe.
Thank you for your support! It's going to be a wonderful event!
Tech Tip from Mrs. Edoff!
In a world filled with digital media and technology, we all have constant access to real-time information. However, too much media consumption can create unhealthy physical and emotional habits. With the TechforEd initiative, we want to be aware of passive consumption versus active creation with our devices, and we strive to support students in developing healthy habits and a good sense of Media Balance.
