Georgia Milestones Assessment: April 20 -May 1, 2015

Students in grades 3-5 will participate in the state assessment program called Georgia Milestones (GMAS). Students will be assessed in reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies. The new assessment will be administered online with students using laptops. Some of the responses will require students to type their response in paragraph format. The assessment in all content areas requires the students to read and write, called constructed and extended constructed responses.

Since we are utilizing laptops for online testing, we will need to rotate groups of students through the testing site. This will result in different homerooms taking the assessment on different days. Therefore, it is important to see the posted schedule at to know when your child is testing.

Benefield will have a no visitor procedure in place schoolwide during the testing window. Visitors will not be allowed to eat lunch with their children or visit classrooms during this time. Please make sure to mark your calendars for April 20 - May1, 2015.
