Lower Campus' Weekly Update
Dec. 4-8, 2017
General Reminders
2- Hallway Expectations: Remind your students to walk quietly in the hallway and not to interrupt classrooms in session (especially Ms. Page's class while getting a drink from the water fountain). I've also noticed a lot of students running out of their room and into the hall for various reasons. This too is unsafe. They aren't looking at where they are going and could easily run into someone in the hall. With trying to get F&P assessments completed some of you are working with your students in the hall. Yet, another reason for student to remain quiet in the hall. Our goal is to be safe and respect others' learning. Please re-teach and reinforce these expectations with your students.
3- MAP testing: MAP testing begins on the 6th. Kindergarten and 2nd grade will begin on the 6th with the reading test. Prior to beginning testing, please be sure to review the MAP testing expectations and video on the site. Also remind the students that they do not have all day to take the test. Encourage them to do their best, select an answer and move on. :) Be sure you have shared their goal cards with them so they know the score they are aiming to reach. If you need headphones, email me immediately so they can be ordered.
According to the MAP site, the dog is back for the primary test! When the students have completed their test, the dog should appear on the screen. This is the signal for students to raise their hand so you can write down their score.
4- With so many items due this month, don't wait until the last minute to complete them. Suggestion: As your students complete their F&P's and MAP, enter the information in your data spreadsheet.
