From the Principal...Kristy McKnight

Thank you to all of you who have participated in our annual 5Essentials Survey. We are up to an 18% participation rate! If you haven't filled it out, please take the time as your confidential participation helps to guide our improvement efforts. The survey window is open now through February 14, 2020. Please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey. Your feedback is appreciated!

The Ferson community did an amazing job supporting both the Big Hearts of Fox Valley and the Salvation Army with our toy donations! Families and kids in the St. Charles area will have a brighter holiday season because of your generosity. Thank you for your support during this season of giving!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Volunteer Guidelines

Volunteers play an important part in our school community. Whether you help out in a classroom, the office, as a booster, in a fine arts program, or in another capacity, we appreciate you giving your time and talent to Ferson Creek Elementary.

For the safety and security of our students, staff members, and other visitors, District 303 is now asking that anyone who regularly volunteers in our school or chaperones an overnight school trip follow a volunteer protocol. The protocol includes signing a volunteer liability form and completing a background check, including fingerprinting, through the Kane County Regional Office of Education.

The Regional Office of Education is located at 28N. First Street in Geneva. Appointments can only be made online at www.kaneroe.org. To be fingerprinted and processed as a volunteer for District 303, the fee is $40. Checks may be made payable to the ROE.

Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe.

Next week from Monday, December 16th-Friday, December 20th, we will be collecting items for the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, Illinois. There will be labeled boxes in the front foyer of the school with grade levels and items so you will know where to place your items. Items to be collected are:

  • Preschool Liquid hand soap
  • Kindergarten Toilet paper
  • 1st grade All purpose cleaner (ex. Mr. Clean, Pinesol)
  • 2nd grade Towel sets (bath, hand, washcloths or kitchen towels)
