Welcome SDSL's New State Librarian

The South Dakota State Library is pleased to introduce our new State Librarian, George Seamon. George joined the South Dakota State Library in late July.
Man dressed in professional attire.
George comes to South Dakota after 14 ½ years in Kansas serving as consultant and director of Northwest Kansas Library System. He and his family have lived in several different states, but he grew up in the great state of Ohio. George and his family (spouse Brandi and children Jacob, Rebekah, and Marcus) look forward to putting down roots here in South Dakota and hope to call Pierre home. He received his Master of Science in Library Science at Clarion University of Pennsylvania and hopes to begin work on a PhD in Education Leadership — just because he loves to learn.
