NEW! MY BIRDVILLE PORTAL
Over the weekend the Technology Department is deploying a new icon to help you better access the My Birdville Portal.
This icon will be available on all district computers and should help make it easier for everyone access the my.BirdvilleSchools.net portal.
As a reminder, this portal provides a number of features that streamline the login process to many of Birdville’s online resources. It also provides better password management and helps to increase instructional time. The portal provides “single sign-on” meaning staff and students can access many district online resources simply by logging into the portal. For staff members and 6-12th grade students who have not logged into the portal, a prompt will appear on the first login to setup three security questions that can be used to reset forgotten passwords in the future.
Sites like iStation, Pearson, STEMscopes, Canvas, and many more, are easily accessible in the portal and new online resources are added on a regular basis.
Over the weekend, a new “Password Reset” icon will also appear on all computer login screens:
This tool allows all staff members and 6th – 12th grade students to reset forgotten computer passwords without having to contact Technology for help. It will prompt you to answer two of the three security questions that you filled out the first time you logged into the portal.
If you have any questions on the portal or the password reset tool please check out the knowledge base articles available on our Technology support site: BISD Technology Knowledge Base

"Preparing students to be well-informed, curious readers is part of our role as educators both across grade levels and subject areas. Although there might have been a time when you had newspapers delivered to your classroom, it’s now easier than ever to connect students with up-to-date articles thanks to these current events websites.
This list shares a handful of favorite current events websites. You’ll find some that allow you to modify reading levels for each article and others that connect student readers to videos, images, and audio files."
