IN THE CLASSROOM
"You will also see quite a few new people and we've started training some new teachers. Ms. Hailey plans on working till her due date so hopefully I'll like them and they'll be a wonderful addition to our Tot Spot Family. " Ms. Alisha
Sensory, Art, Science:
With our classroom at full capacity, we try to have different sensory experiences based on age appropriate lessons so that all babies can experience fun activities. Sensory is any activity that stimulates your young child's senses: touch, smell, taste, movement, balance, sight and hearing. Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore.
We will continue to let our babies play with their food!
Math: shapes. One of the infant math games you can do with infants is the identification of naturally occurring shapes in their environment. ...
More. One of the first math concepts children understand is more. ...
Zero. ...
Sequencing. ...
Sorting and Classifying. ...
Spatial Relationships. ...
Patterns and Matching. ...Measurement.
Dramatic Play:
As the big kids anticipate meal times, we use this opportunity to talk about preparing our food. We mix, pour and pretend to taste and feed others. We will talk about sharing and taking turns. Patience is a tough one, but we try to emphasize this concept. We are using interjections such as, wow. hurray, ouch, shhh, yummy. They are experimenting with how to behave and make good decisions. They play with finger puppets and are learning about pretend, and abstract.
Social-Emotional:
Remember we continue to learn from repetition. Lesson plans may seem repetitive, but this is how babies learn best. It takes a couple of tries before we remember. No, no, no. The babies ability to understand this is an important reminder, and the consequences are unfavorable comes with consistent use. We will us yucky, no mouth to help the older kids learn there is other ways to explore their world.
Gross Motor: Pushing physically abilities is challenging and rewarding. We will use our muscles and energy to stay active. In a Preschool environment, children seem to learn to pull up, sit up at an advanced rate. Walking however is always at an individual pass, and just because your child did all those other things early, walking may not come as fast.
Zoophonics:
We use the tone of our voice to emphasize the letter sounds. There are links attached below where you can check out more about Zoophonics.
Operation Tot Spot Gives Back!

Tax Time is Approaching...
Dear Tot Spot Families,
I am sending this email because we are getting close to the end of the year and therefore close to tax season. Because of our changes from Rapid Tuition to Tuition Express there will be two-year end summaries (a mid year summary for Rapid Tuition and a year-end summary). I emailed all our families when we transferred from Rapid Tuition at the time of the change, so please check your email history for that email. As far as Tuition Express, every family has direct access to your billing receipts through www.myprocare.com . If you have already signed up with www.myprocare.com you are ahead of the game. However, if you have not, you can register from this link www.myprocare.com. You will use the email you received this message from to login. If you have any problems, please let me know.
Thanks again,
Michael Ramsey

- Is there ever a time when you say to yourself, " I wonder if The Tot Spot would want this"? We could use it in so many ways. You may have babies, but the whole school is yours. Everything can turn into a sensory activity or learning experience. So, before you throw out your junk, ask your teacher if it could be used
Teacher Spotlight!
Question: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives and why?
- Ms. Stacey: Go to church. Once is enough for some people, but you never know
- Ms. Hailey: travel the world & get away from reality for a bit
- Ms. Alisha: Jump off a cliff or at least a pirate ship. It’s fun!
- Mr. Mike: Watch a sunrise over a ocean, it’s so peaceful
- Ms. Le Andra: I think that everyone should be a server once in their life. Maybe then people would tip better and realize how much a server does for you and wouldn't be so rude sometimes.
- Ms. Danielle: No clue on this one
- Ms. Katie: I think everyone should travel outside their home country at least once in their lives. There is a whole great, big, fascinating world out there that needs to be explored.
- Ms. Erin: Work in customer service for a short period of time so that people will maybe think twice about who they talk to those in customer service
- Ms. Rachel: I think that everyone should dance in a downpour at least once! It’s very freeing!
Ms. Ericka: Something I think everyone should do once in their life is conquer their biggest fears & answer their "what if" questions by just doing it! Like nike (: #YOLO
Ms. Mikayla: Work in customer service. I think it really helps people see that everyone thinks very differently about everything. It also helps you practice holding your tongue and keeping calm in stressful situations.
Ms. Maggie: I think that everyone should go to Disney World once in their lives. I think that everyone should go to Disney World once in their lives because it is the Most Magical place on earth
Ms. Crystal: Do something you never thought you’d do. Step outside of your comfort zone. If that means, you go out of your way to talk to someone you don’t know or bungee jump, do what challenges you.
