Recess time is essential to the social, emotional, and physical well-being of children. It is our goal to have our students participate in outdoor recess daily.

With student safety and their well-being in mind, our best practice includes only conducting indoor recess when weather conditions include precipitation. It is likely that students will participate in outdoor activities when cold temperatures are upon us.

Please consider this when your children head out the door in the morning. Winter coats, hats, and gloves will keep them comfortable as they play outside.

If your child is in need of a winter coat, please reach out to Mrs. Hackett-Slimm so she can help. Email:

PVS Choir Concert - Date Change

Wishing you and your family a wonderful and joyful holiday season.

See you on February 3!

Eating Utensils

Plastic spoons and forks are packed in paper bags for our students who are eating the school lunches.

For our students who bring their lunch from home, kindly pack any eating utensils your student will need for lunch.

Due to supply chain limitations, we do not have a limitless amount of spoons and forks. Thank you for your help with this concern.

Morning Drop Off

For families dropping their children off in the mornings, our drop-off time is 7:45 AM - 8:00 AM. It runs very smoothly and is generally not crowded. If you arrive prior to 7:45 AM, please do not block the handicapped spaces in the front of the building. Thank you for your help.

Coming in January - Local Author and Social Media Expert, Jen Cannon

Jennifer Cannon is a California native transplanted to the east coast twenty years ago. She is a wife, mom, and author of the first social media guide of its kind, “@Sophie Takes A #Selfie - Rules & Etiquette for Taking Good Care Before You Share. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and cooking Mexican food- one of the things she misses most about California.

This Mullica Hill author is coming to PVS in early January to meet with our students about navigating social media during grade level assemblies. Mrs. Cannon will also host a parent evening at 7:00 PM on January 5, 2022. Our parent meeting will take place in the PVS Cafetorium.
