News you can use from Clinton-Massie Local Schools
The Destination District of Southwest Ohio
Welcome to Clinton-Massie Local Schools. Everyday we see students reaching their full potential, staff members working hard to educate, and community stakeholders supporting our fine students. We want to share some of the fun and exciting things happening at Clinton-Massie.
A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Welcome to Clinton-Massie Local Schools!
In our district, education is an endeavor we take seriously. Our schools are a point of pride for our residents, and it’s easy to see why! We are excited about the positive direction of the district. In all we do, we will be the best! From the classroom to the lunchroom, day one to day one-hundred, and everything in between our students will reap the benefit of a staff that cares.
This will be my second year with Clinton-Massie Local Schools. I am thankful everyday for the opportunity to work in the district in which I live. I get to see great things happening across the campus and in the community. Our students are growing academically, artistically and athletically. Our teachers and support staff have a level of caring for our students that is rarely seen in today's society. We have all-stars in every department and content area.
This coming year we will continue to raise the bar on academic achievement. We will also offer a variety of ways to see our students in action, from heart-pounding athletics to theater, choir and band performances. We want to recognize our students for all the great things they are able to achieve.
If you haven’t visited us lately, I encourage you to attend an event this year and support the Falcon Family. Or consider volunteering in the classroom, we welcome your help in the buildings.
I can’t wait to see what the new school year brings. To keep up to date with news and events from our schools, please follow us on Twitter, Instagram or like us on Facebook and visit our website frequently.
Proud to be a Falcon,
Matt Baker, Superintendent

Event Information
Hurricane Relief Collection at Clinton-Massie Local Schools
In order to help those devastated by the recent hurricane activity in both Texas and Florida Clinton-Massie Local Schools will be collecting items for the next two weeks. We have had a trailer donated to hold those items. We also have transportation of those items to Matthew 25 Ministries donated by a district parent. Please join with us in modeling an "others first" mentality to our students. The trailer will be open in the morning to drop off items. Throughout the day feel free to bring any donations to any school office and the Board of Education office located inside the middle school. There will also be collection receptacles at sporting events for the next couple of weeks. Let's show the people of Florida and Texas that the Clinton-Massie community is behind them during their time of recovery! A list is attached of acceptable collection items. Please do not bring clothes!! We want to give the most useful items possible. Thank you for your support! From our Falcon Family to the thousands of families displaced and discouraged our prayers are with you.

CMHS ACT SCORES SHOW STEADY IMPROVEMENT
Clinton-Massie High School recently received the results from the 2017 ACT testing period. CMHS saw an increase in four out of five categories while testing the most students since 2013. Our district composite score rose to 22.4 and places us tied for 20th against all schools in Southwest Ohio (this includes all Cincinnati schools). Kudos to the staff at our high school and the students for their hard work!
CLINTON-MASSIE ENTERS NEW LEAGUE
Clinton-Massie has joined the SBAAC (Southern Buckeye Athletic and Academic Conference) beginning this school year. We are excited at the great level of competition that we will face in the SBAAC. There are some familiar faces making the transition with us from the SCOL (Wilmington and East Clinton). We are looking forward to a long run of championships starting this fall season.
AGRICULTURE EDUCATION RETURNS AFTER A 39 YEAR HIATUS
We are very excited that after almost forty years we have Ag Ed classes back at CMHS. Mr. Uetrecht has returned to his alma mater to head up this new adventure. For the 2017-2018 Ag Ed will be a half-day program with the intent to extend it to a full day program in the near future. The response from the student body has been overwhelming. There were so many kids that signed up we had to cap the class. Ag Ed allows our students the opportunity to see what great careers are available in the field of agriculture (especially within a 30 minute drive from CM).
Clinton-Massie Elementary is awarded $5,000.00 for their flexible seating initiative by The Columbus Foundation!
