- After School Activities are cancelled next week due to conferences.
- Our annual SLU Pig Heart dissection information was passed out last week.The trip is $15 and there are two forms the students need to bring back. Permission forms and money are due by Oct. 31st.

- Every year the PTO organizes an evening meal for the faculty and staff during parent-teacher conferences. This year we will be providing a catered dinner, beverages, snacks and desserts for a quick meal on Monday, October 7, 2019. We need your help to make this all possible. Red Ribbon Week:
Monday 10/28– Ink out drugs Day! – wear a tattoo! Step Team will be selling tattoos at lunch for 50 cents each.
Tuesday 10/29 – Blow Out Drugs Day! – Purchase a blow pop for 25 cents from a Step Team Member.
Wednesday 10/30 – Don’t sleep on drugs, be aware! - Wear your favorite PJ bottoms to school for 50 cents!
Thursday 10/31 Keep drugs out of your face! -Two student’s per lunch shift will be drawn to throw a pie in a staff member’s face!
We will also have a Halloween Contest with gift cards for the winners!
All proceeds from the sale of tattoos, blow pops, etc will be used to fund performance uniforms for the step team. Thanks for your support!

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held next week on October 7th, 8th, and 10th. Please visit the link below to schedule conferences with your child's teachers. It will be helpful to have your child's schedule available when visiting the site so that you are able to schedule conferences with all of your child's teachers.

Classroom Happenings
ELA- Mr. Jones
We have continued drafting our Realistic Fiction Stories this week, focusing on taking 2D writing to 3D writing by adding sensory details, movement details, and figurative language. We also worked on developing our characters and developing our overall story arc. Next week we will continue drafting and focus on those who are running into obstacles and having writer’s block.

Social Studies- Mrs. Pettid
Students began working on their Geography Summative Project this Wednesday. The directions are on my website in the Geography section. They will have every day in class through next Thursday to complete their work. Presentations will begin the following Monday
