SCIENCE!!!!

We are continuing to learn about simple circuits/electricity and having a blast! Last week we attempted to create a complete circuit using the following items:

potato

insulated wires

nail

penny

light bulb

Ask your student the following questions:

Was your group able to make a complete circuit?

Did the light bulb light?

What is the difference between a conductor and an insulator?

Here is what we are learning this week and next:

Math - We are finishing up our unit on division. We will take our unit test on Thursday. Please work with your students on division, estimating the quotient, and using the inverse operation to check their answers.

Science - we are continuing to explore and learn about electricity

Reading - We read a story today about mountains. Students will become experts this week in how mountains are formed.

Language Arts - We are going to work on a few writing activities during our short week before the break.

I hope all of you enjoy your time with family and loved ones over the break.
