September 2013

This month's virtue is all about COURAGE...

Being brave enough to do what you should do, even when you're afraid. Your child will learn that courage is not the absence of fear but how someone responds in the face of fear. Each Bible story unpacks how individuals approached scary situations and remembered that God was big enough to handle anything. God was with Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Caleb and Abraham, and the best news of all... He will always be with us, providing for our needs also. The memory verse for September is: "When I'm afraid, I will trust in You." Psalm 56:3. Sometimes the greatest adventures start when we trust God in decisions we may be afraid of. But in the end, we can live courageously, believing in God's promises.

This month's Bible stories:

September 1: Joseph lived a life of courage (Genesis 30, 37, 39-46)

September 8: Moses displays courage (Exodus 3:1-4:17; Exodus 7-12)

September 15: Moses' "impossible" task (Exodus 14)

September 22: Joshua and Caleb are brave (Numbers 13-14)
