Buildings
Dear Parents,
This week we got to work on our building knowledge following our focus questions: Who builds buildings? What tools do they use? Children were intrigued to learn about the workers at a construction site. Architects, engineers, construction workers, carpenters, brick layers and plumbers are some of the workers that create wonderful structures. We have discussed the different tools each worker uses as well. Our centers throughout the classroom encouraged children to explore tools such as hammers, nails, saws, tape measures and screwdrivers. Another essential item for buildings are blueprints. A blueprint was explained as the design plan for a building.
Our week finalized with the safety precautions workers must follow at a construction site. To keep their bodies safe workers use equipment from head to toes: hard hat, protective eyewear, gloves, vest and boots.
Also Valentine’s Day sparked a celebration of love and friendship throughout the week.
Enjoy the weekend,
PK3 Team
