Magnetic Forces

The difference between metalic and magnetic!

Magnetism is a property of some substances, whereby they can affect other substances.

Which metals?

Only iron, nickel and cobalt are able to act as magnets and respond to other magnets.

So how does it work?

All these metals have negatively charged particles in them that are able to line up. If the metal is heated, or repeatedly exposed to a strong magnet, these parts all line up, producing the north and south poles of a magnet.
