Here's what's happening in MS this week!

Dear Parents,
Monday and Tuesday are exam days. Lancer Leap begins Wednesday.
ENGLISH
6th Grade: Those students who still need to complete the NWEA for either reading or language will do so during the exam block on Monday. Starting Wednesday, 6th grade students will be have English with Mrs. Goslee!
7th Grade: On Tuesday, students will write their argumentative essays on the community of The Giver during the exam block. On Wednesday, we will start our Grammar Blast, beginning with modifiers.
SOCIAL STUDIES
6th Grade: Our Ancient Rome projects are due during our last class/exam time on Tuesday May 16th. No work will be accepted after this date for their projects.
7th Grade: Our Ancient Rome projects are due during our last class/exam time on Tuesday May 16th. No work will be accepted after this date for their projects.
8th Grade: On Friday, student were given a study guide and encouraged to take home their vocabulary words to study. The exam will be on Tuesday for the last two hours of the day. It will be on Schoology so grades will instantly be calculated. We didn’t manage to get through all of the Civil War, but we did cover the Gettysburg Address and the Emancipation Proclamation.
MATH
6th Grade: 6th graders had the first part of the M-Step last week. We also finished our unit on writing and simplifying algebraic expressions. During the exam time on Monday, May 15th, they will have the Performance Task portion of the M-Step. Math will continue during Lancer Leap and we will begin talking about algebraic equations and how to solve them.
7th Grade: The students will be taking the second portion of the M-Step during their exam time on Monday, May 15th. Math will continue during Lancer Leap and we will continue finding volumes and surface areas of 3D objects.
8th Grade: The 8th graders will be taking the Math NWEA during our exam time on Tuesday, May 16th. Only students who did not meet their NWEA goals for Math will be taking the test. Math for 8th graders during Lancer Leap will continue with Mrs. Vanderhart for algebra review!
SCIENCE
6th Grade: We will be taking the Science NWEA during our exam time on Tuesday May 16th. Sixth grade science will continue through Lancer Leap. We will be exploring Matter and Energy. We began with discussing potential and kinetic energy.
7th Grade: Those students who did not meet their NWEA goals for Science will be taking the test one last time on Tuesday to try and reach their goals. If all students reach their goal, Mr. Faivor will get them ice cream!
8th Grade: The students will take their final exam on Monday. They have an exam review sheet that is due on Monday, the day of the exam. They should study their old quizzes that are all found online at schoology.
