Personal Reflection
What is it about this college that interests you?
All my life, I had wanted to go to UT Austin. Since it is considered one of Texas' bests colleges, it had always interested me to go there. In UT, they have an amazing student section at football games and a great athletics program. More, they have great academia programs that will help me in the right track as I enter the medical field. Lastly, with so many people at UT Austin, it should not be hard to create a social life and make friends on campus.
What obstacles do you foresee that could make it difficult for you to attend this college?
One obstacle I mainly worry about is not being able to reach the top 7% of my class. In Texas, everybody in the top 10% of their class get automatic acceptance to all public colleges, except UT which is at 7% due to overpopulation. Being in the top 8% right now, I am trying to slowly raise my class rank to be able to get automatic acceptance. Another obstacle I worry about is getting a low score on SAT/ACT. Since UT Austin does not check GPA, it is a matter of getting in by automatic acceptance or by ACT/SAT scores.
After doing more research on this college, are you more or less interested in attending?
After doing this research, I am more interested in attending this school. I enjoyed learning about the school environment and demographics, and the things in the daily life at UT Austin. Also, I got to learn more about the dorms, whats in it and the history behind it. During this research, I also discovered more about the Austin area, which made me love Austin more. By doing this research, it made me more motivated to go to this college and be a part of the Texas Longhorn Family.
