Michael Jordan and Kobe bryant
You may know Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant as two of basketballs finest and elite players and they will go down as the best two player of all time. But both of them took rough paths to get to where they are today. Lets start with Jordan. Michael Jordan got cut from his high school basketball team. That's pretty hard to believe considering what he is today. Jordan also faced adversity with his family. Jordan's first year into the NBA his dad died. Those were Jordan's adversity's now here is Kobe Bryant's. Kobe suffered many injuries throughout his career such as, fractures in fingers, fractured metacarpal, sprained shoulder, many knee surgery's, torn acl and the list could go on and on. Imagine how much BETTER Kobe would be if he didn't have all of those injuries and sat out for so long. Jordan and Bryant together combined for 11 NBA championships, 4 Olympic gold medals, 7 MVP awards, and 29 all star appearances! Those are unbelievable accomplishments! These two amazing basketball players overcame the hardships that they faced.
Henry Ford
Without Henry Ford I don't know where we would be today. Without him it would be very hard to travel. The car is easily the most used way of transportation. Henry Ford was born on a farm to William and Mary Ford in spring wells township, Michigan, located nine miles outside of Detroit. Henry Ford left his family farm to pursue his interest in machinery in Detroit. He went through some adversities to get to where he got to though. Henry was fired from his first job. He also failed with his first two company's. But he overcame and persevered through these adversities. Fords first automobile was the quadricycle. Ford motor company became the most talked about company in the us. Ford made a lot of money and was very successful. Henry Ford died at fair lane at the age of 83.
Thomas Edison
We may know Thomas Edison as the guy who invented the light bulb, but it wasn't easy to get to what he achieved. Thomas faced adversities. In school teachers said he was too stupid to learn anything. He was fired from his first two jobs for being non-productive. He was unsuccessful 1000 times at inventing the light bulb. Thomas learned from these mistakes and he invented the first electric light bulb. He also won many awards. He has the most patents of any inventor. He invented the movie camera (the ones at the movie theater). Also, he invented the rechargeable battery. Here's an article on Thomas Edison by History.com. ''In his 84 years, Thomas Edison acquired a record number of 1093 patents and was the driving force behind such innovations such as the phonograph, the incandescent light bulb and one of the earliest motion picture cameras. He also created the world's first industrial research laboratory. Known as the wizard of Menlo park for the New Jersey town where he did some of his best-known work. Edison had become one of the most famous men in the world by the time he was in his 30's. In addition to his talent for invention, Edison was also a successful, manufacturer and businessman who was highly skilled at marketing his inventions and himself to the public.''
Bill Gates
We all know Bill Gates as the man who invented the billion dollar company, Microsoft. But no one thought that he would never do it. In fact, most people thought that Bill Gates would amount to nothing. People thought that because Bill dropped out of Harvard University. Instead of quitting and giving up after dropping out of college Bill decided to go on the right path despite dropping out of college. After dropping out Bill moved to New Mexico and create his own company called Microsoft. After that, it was smooth sailing for him. Years went by and lots of money was going into Bills pockets and he became the richest man on the planet at the age of 39! But he wasn't satisfied. Bill inspired the era of the home computer. Who would have thought that a college drop out would end up this successful.
Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill was born to an aristocrat family on November 30, 1874. He did poorly at his first two schools and on April, 1888, he was sent to harrow school, a boarding school near London. He had an unhappy childhood, an emotionally abusive relationship with his father and secured zero educational achievement. Soon after entering parliament in 1900, he changed parties and was criticized for opportunism. He rose seamlessly in government before crashing like a comet falling from the sky during WW1. He recovered politically before taking a series of wrong decisions during the 1920's as chancellor of the exchequer in charge of Britains finances. The 1930's was a decade of public humiliation as Churchill appeared to back all of the wrong causes. Churchill was ejected from office in 1945. He overcame these adversities and accomplished many things. He won the Nobel prize in 1953. He also was prime minister of Britain. He also won Man of the Year in 1940.
