Remote Learning Logs: (No longer a thing)
We have received concerns from parents and teachers about the daily logs used for remote learning for the 2020-2021 school year. We have discussed this issue with the Kansas Department of Education. As a result of school district feedback, KSDE has eliminated the requirement for daily logs and developed new assurances to be signed by the parent/legal guardian. The new Assurances form only needs to be completed one time per child and is electronic.
Parents will need to go into Skyward by September 21st and complete the Assurances electronic form. Please see the Assurance Directions with additional directions if needed.
Our goal is to concentrate on students and education programs and not on learning logs. We hope this will have a positive effect on student achievement.
From Mr. Martin
We are getting into the rhythm of this remote model. We now have one full week under our belt and most of the kinks have been worked out. I do expect teachers to continue to explore better methods for providing instruction so you will see improved learning outcomes. This means teachers will be increasing learning expectations not decreasing. I repeat what I expect will become a ‘mantra’.
Taking the path of least resistance when looking at your learning is not acceptable.
Parenting in the Digital Age - This is a previous training session offered to TRMS parents that we hope is a resource. We are planning additional parent training called KEEPING KIDS SAFE ONLINE on Oct 1, 2020 @ 7pm (see information below). This will be a zoom based meeting and here is the link.

Current immunizations are required by the state of Kansas to be enrolled in school. This requirement is true even if your student is a remote learner. As always, feel free to call with any questions or concerns: (913)856-3565.
Please email immunization records to rheadc@usd231.com or fax them to our office at (913)856-3552.
