Distribution
The Corroboree frog lives in the northern Snowy Mountains and are found in Kosciuszko National Park.
Habitat and Ecology
The Corroboree Frog feeds primarily on small black ants and other invertebrates and in Summer they breed in pools and seepages in sphagnum bogs.
Threats
The Frog has many threats in its life such as damage to breeding habitat by feral pigs and wild horses. Disease is also a threat, the chytrid fungus is killing them. Climate change is also a threat.
Recovery Strategies
Priority actions are the specific, practical things that must be done to recover a threatened species.
What needs to be done?
There needs to be offsite rearing of tadpoles and frogs.
We also need to protect breeding sites from damage by pigs and horses.
