Live! At the Lake
Orchard Lake Community Presbyterian Church
October 15, 2019
Dear Messiah Singers and Friends of Orchard Lake Church Music,
We are planning a Christmas spectacular for the second weekend in Advent! I hope you will make plans to rehearse with us and then celebrate as we lead others into worship and praise. Come and be a part of this singing “team” praising our Almighty Audience of One!
Our friend, Steve Orr, is helping bring in guest performers as he’s done in the past: John Standefer on guitar, Rufus Harris and Stacey Mason will sing. Our good friend, Tobey Miller, will be a guest also.
Our theme this year is And there was Light. The choir will do a combination of things. I purchased some individual pieces with orchestra accompaniment – an original Michael W. Smith chart called Christmastime, which Joe Martin is conducting at Carnegie Hall this year. We will sing a new praise and worship chart, Is He Worthy, with an arrangement by Dan Forrest, and his new arrangement of Silent Night. Additional pieces, to help develop the theme, will be from musicals we have performed in the past: Everlasting Light, A Celtic Christmas and Christmas Fantasia. It will be lovely.
We start rehearsing at 7:30 on October 16th for one hour each week until we get closer to the worship celebrations.
FINAL WEEK SCHEDULE:
Monday, 12/2 POSSIBLE extra rehearsal 7-9 p.m.
Wednesday, 12/4 Dress Rehearsal 7-10 p.m.
Friday, 12/6 Performance 7:30! 6:30 call
Sunday, 12/8 Performance 4:00 3:30 call
Please come and sing! Bring somebody with you who would enjoy our fellowship and our music making!
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Bruce Snyder, Director of Music Ministries
