BJHS April 2022 Newsletter

We are SMART. We are KIND. We are KNIGHTS!

April 2022

Greetings from BJHS!

Spring is officially here and we are ready for it! The end of the school year is approaching quickly. Students and staff will be very busy with all sorts of activities, such as standardized testing, honor/awards ceremonies, and class field trips, along with celebrations. It is an exciting and industrious time for all of us. Please know that we enjoy the wonderful times we spend with your student(s) and we hope they do, too.

Please reach out to the school if you have any questions, concerns, or compliments!

You've Been Knighted!

BJHS held it's first "You've Been Knighted!" recognition breakfast on March 17, 2022 and it was a great success. Throughout history, to be “knighted” meant to be recognized for one’s achievements or service to one’s country. We are very proud to have students in our school who have shown their character through accomplishing great achievements and service. We celebrated our students for being wonderful people and doing wonderful things. Students could invite two guests and we had about 80 people in attendance. We will host another one in the 4th quarter. Maybe your student will be nominated!

6th Grade Time Capsule

The 6th grade time capsule that teams from last year contributed to is finished. Thanks to 8B Social Studies teacher Eric Neuman for spearheading the effort. Also, thank you to Art Teacher Jen Baker and the current 7th graders for decorating it. The goal will be to open it in 2040.

Happy National School Librarian Appreciation Day, April 4, 2022

Happy School Librarian Day to our very own Yesenia Nicoson and paraprofessional Amanda Pierce-Ghahramany! School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also dedicated to helping our children find the resources they need to keep learning. School librarians are the people who create an environment where students can learn every day of the year. Their work is an impressive accomplishment.

In addition, they provide guidance and expose our youth not only to texts, print media, and literature but to digital resources and technology, too. These resources also connect them to libraries around the world. A school librarian’s ability to manage scores of media and a school full of students with numerous projects and schedules astounds us. Thank you both! #SchoolLibrarianDay
