World Book Day
non -uniform day for the homeless
Friday 9th March
Mr Dudman has been approached by children in Year 5 expressing their concern about people who sleep rough or are homeless.
"Mum and I were watching the news and we saw homeless people and felt sorry for them in the cold weather, I thought that we should be helping them," said a concerned Eva.
Tom said, "We would like to hold a non-uniform day so that all the children in the school can be involved, we just want people to bring in a pound."

safety online
On the subject of safety we would like to point out that we have updated the E-Safety page in the parents' section of the school website. We have now embedded article links from Parent Info. Parent Info provides high quality information to parents and carers about children's wellbeing and resilience, especially in relation to the internet. You now have access to a library full of supportive articles you can explore.
There is plenty of information online, for example you could visit https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/
Or click the button below to see our updated page.
We would also be grateful if you could complete the survey below to help us plan our computing curriculum and organise information for parents. Click on the button to access the survey - or look for the link which has been via text today.

Friends of Ripon Cathedral School
Disco Disappointment: We're so sorry that we've had to postpone the school disco tonight (2nd March) but the decision was taken based on safety concerns over using the school site in the dark in possibly freezing conditions. We felt that asking staff, some of whom have car journeys, to stay so late when forecasts are poor was unfair. We hope you understand and can make our alternative date which will be announced next week.
A Big Thank You: You remember our Bag-2-School collection a few weeks ago. Thank you for all donations as we raised £98 which is our best total ever!
Easter Egg Sponsorship: Thank you so much to Enterprise Retirement Villages - who are currently creating a new village called The Red House in Ripon. They have agreed to sponsor our Easter Egg Competition and Hunt. For those who like to plan ahead, our theme for the egg decorating competition is 'Forest Friends' and the entries will be judged on Monday 26th March at 9am in the school hall.
Contact us: Don't forget you can always make contact with the Friends via the facebook page or email in person rcpsfriends@gmail.com
Diary of events: We hope these events are in your diary!

Thursday 29th March - Easter Egg hunt
Tuesday 24th April - Friday 27th April - Bookfair (returned on Tuesday 1st May)

Message from The Cathedral
This Sunday we have Children's Church Xtra when parents can drop children off at the Cathedral Hall at 10.30am for crafts and activities.
We are sure regular attenders at Breakfast Natters were disappointed that the weather yesterday meant we have now missed the first Thursday in March. Mrs Denney has kindly rearranged it so we can still have a get together this month - so please put Thursday 22nd March in your diaries. New faces are always welcome!
