TCS Maintains Excellent Academic Standing

Trussville City Schools (TCS) continues to maintain its excellent academic standing among Alabama's 137 school systems, placing in the top 10 for student proficiency in English/Language Arts (ELA); Math; and Science. These results come from the ACAP - the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP), a new assessment that was administered to 2nd-8th graders last spring by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE). Visit this link for an interactive map of all Alabama school systems. The map will enable you to hover over Trussville or any other school system to see scores in Science, Math or English/Language Arts. You can also move the "percent proficient" bar to review school systems at each percentage point. Scores by school systems and their various subpopulations can also be viewed. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lisa Berry will present a detailed data analysis at the October Board of Education meeting.

"As always, we will continue to move upward toward the next level of excellence. I am so proud of the work we did last year to obtain these outstanding scores," Superintendent Dr. Pattie Neill said. "Please join us in congratulating these teachers and students for doing a great job! Way to go, TCS!"

October 6 Designated a Virtual Learning Day for 9th Graders

The TCS Board of Education approved a Remote Learning Day for all 9th-grade students. The Remote Learning Day will be Wednesday, October 6, 2021. This will allow 9th-grade students the opportunity to complete their classwork remotely using their Chromebooks and/or logging into Schoology during what will be a testing day for their classmates in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. Please visit the Hewitt-Trussville High School website for additional information.
