Hello!
Hybrid has gone well and now we are gearing up for full in person starting Oct. 19th.
I appreciate your patience as we continue to work through the bus schedules. DS bus is working diligently to get all students on a bus and iron out their pick up and drop off times. If you have questions about your students busing please call D.S at 913-384-1190.
Car line is going well, with parents having to get in and out to get their child out of their carseat and put them back in, it is moving a bit slower than usual. However you all have been wonderfully patient as we continue to work out the kinks. Please stay in your car with your child until you have moved your car to the front of the building. If you are first in line, feel free to pull up past the handicapped ramp and stop right at the edge of the building. This allows at least 3 cars to be able to load and unload at a time. When picking up your child from school, please display the name sign prominently so we can know which child to load next.
As a reminder, doors open for drop off for the AM Session at 8:10, class officially starts at 8:15, children are dismissed at 11. Doors open at 12:10 for the PM Session and class officially begins at 12:15. Dismissal is at 3:00
Important Calendar Reminders
Oct 19th- Face to Face students return to school 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday
Nov 12&13- Parent/Teacher Conferences
Halloween
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming the evening of November 12th and all day Nov. 13th. In the upcoming weeks your child's teacher will be sending home requests to schedule these with you. Teachers and parents have the option of having conferences either in person or virtually Via WebEx. We are asking if you come in person, to come without your child if possible, and contact your child's teacher when you arrive prior to coming in the building. More information will be coming regarding this scheduling.
Daily Covid Assessment
Prior to coming to school each day, it is important to monitor your student for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. For the health and safety of all students and staff, please conduct a Daily COVID-19 Assessment, looking for new to your child health concerns, not ones that are present due to allergies or another health diagnosis.
It is not necessary to report the assessment has been completed unless you are reporting a YES response to attendance and/or the school nurse. Please call the attendance line if your child is staying home, state their symptoms, and contact your building nurse at 913-993-2602 if you have any questions.

In the past 24 hours, has your student had any of the following symptoms?
1. Fever (temperature of 100 or above) * 8. Fatigue

Breakfast and Lunch
We take time at the start of each session to eat as a group to practice language and social skills during a preferred activity. The AM session eats breakfast and the PM session eats lunch. All school meals are free right now due to a grant from USDA. If you would like your child to participate in the hot meals, we encourage it, however you are also free to send a snack or preferred food with your child if you choose.
The funding for all children is expected to end on or before 12/31/2020. If you would like to continue to have your child receive a hot breakfast or lunch, please make sure you have added money to their account by going here, or if you believe you might continue to qualify for free meals, fill out the application found here
If you have questions, feel free to call the food service department 913-993-9710.
