All Time All Stars Weekly Update
March 9-13, 2015
Greetings friends,
Here is an overview of our week:
Vocabulary Unit 7 practice continues. Practice and games can be found on the vocabularyworkshop.com or sadlierconnect.com websites. Assessment will be Wednesday.
Multiplication practice is in full swing. For practice with multiplication facts, have your kiddos practice "skip counting" to 100 by multiples of 2's, 4's and 8's, then 3's, 6's, 7's, and 9's moving on to 11's, 12's...and take it as far as you can! (you can also ask them to do this by counting back from 100 in the sequence to get ready for division practice!). Multiplication assessment will be Thursday. Eight Dreambox lessons due Friday.
Book Fair is here! Information and red clown noses come home today :)
Writers will complete, practice, and video their final persuasive speeches this week. While writers are in the mindset of persuasion, writing practice will shift to petitions.
Orange Reading Logs come home today. These will span from this week through spring break. Please encourage your child to kiddo to continue building their reading life over spring break. Reading logs will be collected Monday, 3/23/15.
Friday is Special Topics Day. Mr. Evans and Ms. Borges have created a program entitled "Streets". Students will share memories and backgrounds special to them based upon memories of the streets on which they grew up or strongly associate.
Dismissal is at 11:30 on Friday.
Have a wonderful week and a safe and healthy spring break!
Best,
Kate

Dear Parents,
I am excited to announce the grand opening of the Cru Café! This is an occasion where students can request a reservation with me and up to three of their friends to dine in our “café” (the room beside Mrs. Borges’). We break bread and share in wonderful conversation! Students get a chance to talk about what is on their mind; the exciting things going on, projects they are creating, or upcoming games, competitions or weekend plans as well as any worries or concerns they may be having. It is a great opportunity to share and relax. The Cru Café is strictly an optional opportunity and is open for any student who would like to come in. I am thrilled to offer this chance to connect, and I look forward to getting to know each student better. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Warm regards,
Nicole Williams
