New York Knicks
The New York Knicks is from New York City, New York, USA. The longitude and latitude of where they are located is 73.9400 west, and 40.6700 north. They live in the Northeastern Region, and Coastal Plain. In New York they speak English. Looking at the political map, in the Northeastern Region, New York is the largest city in the USA. Basketball was invented there as well. One of their famous landmarks is Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. But looking at the physical map, the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia in on the Coastal Plain. As well as the Appalachian Mountains.
Team Mascot Information
The Knicks do not have a mascot but they use their logo as what represents them. They have a coulee nicknames; the Knickerbockers, and the Knickers. The nickname Knickerbocker comes from the pilgrims that came to the 'New World' (North America) which New York is in. The names refers to the type of pants they wore.
The team was established in 1946 and was founded by Ned Irish. They chose New York because it's easy to get there, and it's centrally located. Like I said in the last paragraph, the do not have a mascot but they use a logos that was made when they were created (1946).
The stadium that the Knicks play in is the Madison Square Garden. A man named William Kissan Vanderbilt named it after his father had died, it was meant as a multipurpose arena/stadium. It used to be named the New York and Boston Railroad, Hippodrome, Gilmore Garden, and The Garden. There were many shifts in the name because many people had own the stadium, or bought the name.
