RMS Wildcat Weekly
December 11th, 2020 Information for our Families
Greetings Wildcat Families!
Thank you to everyone who attended parent/teacher/student conferences this week! It was wonderful to see the student reflection and the collaboration around how we can support our Wildcats with their learning and growth.
As you know, we are continuing with virtual learning next week, so students will follow the RMS Virtual Schedule that is linked below. Our VUSD School Board will meet on Tuesday, December 15th, to discuss our learning models and to make decisions about our safe return to campus. As Dr. Doyle stated in his last Community Update 12.7.20, "If the board chooses to make significant changes to the learning models for the second half of the school year, we will provide an opportunity for parents to modify their selection." If this is the case, we will ask that any further requests for changes be made as soon as possible, as our counselors and administration are planning now for the adjustments that must be made to our master schedule.
Encourage your student to participate in Spirit Week next week and to submit pictures! Also, please consider participating in our PTA Donation Drive and Restaurant Fundraiser. Details are below!
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. We are so grateful for our Wildcat Community!
Stay safe and healthy!
Sincerely,
Heather Golly

PTA Donation Drive and Fundraiser
Donation Drive to Support Teachers: If you’ve been wondering how to get thoughtful holiday/year-end gifts to teachers, PTA is offering a great opportunity. Please help PTA offer teachers a gift they truly deserve: more funding to assist with classroom/teaching needs that support our students. PTA has committed to providing every Wildcat teacher with $50 to spend on their classes, and now we need your help to increase that level of support. Visit
https://checkout.square.site/buy/FOD5ZT4EEXAAV5EWIXZQ5YOX to make a donation in any amount and 100% of the proceeds will be donated directly to teachers. Remember, donations are tax deductible. PTA will share the donations across all RMS teachers. Please share the link and help us show teachers how much our Wildcat community supports them. DEADLINE to donate is Dec. 18 at noon.
Restaurant Fundraiser Dec 16 at Pizzamaniac - please support both local business and PTA by participating in our next fundraiser at Pizzamaniac on Wed. Dec 16 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Mention RMS PTA when you order for takeout or delivery.

A Letter From Yearbook
Dear Wildcat Parents and Families,
Our Yearbook Staff needs your help! With students at home for distance learning, it is incredibly challenging for our Yearbook Staff to capture photos of life during these times. You can help us by submitting photos and/or stories that we can share in our yearbook!
Submit photos and/or stories by clicking on this link:

We are looking for photos and stories that capture life outside of school. This includes:
Candid photos (students don’t have to pose!)
What does learning look like at home?
How does your student stay active? Stay creative? Stay social?
How do you spend family time together?
How are you celebrating birthdays/special occasions?
What has been difficult to find at the grocery store?
Socially Distanced Family Vacations
Anything that might relate to our school, our school year and your wonderful Wildcat student.
With a year unlike any other comes a yearbook unlike any other.
