OK2Say Community Presentation
Otsego Public Schools is launching OK2SAY during National School Safety Week, October 22-26, as a new tool in our school safety plan. While we believe Otsego Public Schools are safe, we are not immune from potential threats or dangers to our students or learning environment. We know that someone is usually aware of an activity before it happens; we want to empower students to speak up. That’s why we are joining forces with OK2SAY, a student safety initiative in Michigan that enables students to confidentially report potential harm or criminal activity aimed at students, teachers, staff or other school employees. We hope you can join us to learn more about this program at a Community Seminar on Tuesday, October 23rd, 7:00 p.m. at the OHS auditorium. Students will also hear presentations, geared to their grade level, at school during this week.

OHS Destination Imagination
We Need Your Help!
The Otsego High School Destination Imagination team is running a clothing drive from October 22nd-November 16th!
We are collecting NEW socks, NEW underwear, and NEW AND GENTLY used tennis shoes.
Boxes will be set up in the school lobby.
When this clothing drive ends, we will be distributing these items throughout the schools in Otsego and Plainwell to the families who are in need.
Halloween Parade & Trunk-or-Treat
The parade will start at 2:30 p.m., marching through the halls as we pick up each class. We will then leave the building through the east doors and out into the parking lot for the Trunk-or-Treat. We will re-enter the building by the Kindergarten rooms and drop the students off as we march back through the halls. To watch the parade, you may stand in the halls, or you may stand out front around the parking lot.
Costumes should not be too scary and weapons, references to drugs or alcohol, or gory outfits will not be allowed.
Students are welcome to bring their own bag for the candy and other trinkets they will receive at the Trunk-or-Treat.
If the weather is rainy we will have the parade inside and the Trunk-or-Treat in the cafeteria.
We hope to see you at the parade!
Important Changes to the Elementary Student Handbook
There have been two changes to the Otsego Public Schools Elementary Handbook concerning Electronic Devices/Cell Phones and Attendance. Please review the last two newsletters concerning these changes. The Elementary Student Handbook is available on-line at www.otsegops.org, under Useful Links on each building page, or a paper copy can be obtained in any OPS Elementary School office.
