Mrs. Smith strives to create a warm and welcoming environment so that students will want to return to the library. Check out her bulletin board in celebration of Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month! Espectacular!

Two of Mrs. Ardon's Heritage students are finalists for the "My Hispanic Roots, My American Dream" essay contest sponsored by Conexion Americas! Fantastic work!

Ms. Fahmy is working hard with her Arabic Heritage students! She's cutting through the buzz around fluency and reviewing what reading fluency is, why it is essential to ensure that students have sufficient fluency, how fluency should be assessed, and how to best provide fluency practice and support for students. Awesome job!

In Mrs. Woodward's Leadership class, her seniors started their Big Brother Big Sister mentoring program at Thomas Edison Elementary School again this year. This is their second year to be paired up with the same student. The student is now a 5th grader. Keep paying this awesomeness forward!

The AHS Band took 1st place in their class and 5th place overall at the Traveler's Rest Marching Band Invitational at John Overton High School over fall break. In addition to these class placements, they earned awards of excellence for outstanding music, visual, percussion, and color guard performances. Way to go, Mr. Janowiak!
