Thank You Davisburg Families!
As the school year comes to a close, our minds and hearts are full. It’s been a great year of learning and growing together. We have new understandings and shared experiences that will remain with us for years to come.
The strength of our learning community and passion for making our school the best it can be make Davisburg truly special. Big thanks to all who have contributed in small, large and unimaginable ways! You support our work and provide resources that allow us to do what is best for children on a daily basis. Thanks for getting your children to school on time each day, for sending your kids with healthy lunches obviously packed with love, for making sure homework gets done… and turned in, for supporting learning at home with your own curiosity and parent-child conversations. Thank you for providing rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences for your children and knowing that education is about joy, wonder and fostering curiosity, along with the development of social skills so needed to succeed. For these, and a million other things, we are truly grateful.
To those leaving us for new places and adventures, we are wishing you all the best. Congratulations to our fabulous 5th graders who are onto a new stage in their academic career. Know that Davisburg is always here cheering you on and we’d love a visit.
Keep your mind moving this summer - read, write, explore the science in your own back yard and the math opportunities that can exist in the grocery store aisles. Practice keeps the brain sharp!
Have a wonderful and refreshing summer! Fondly- Mrs. Hempton

2016-2017 Online Registration - Skyward Family Access
I would like to remind you about the Holly Area Schools online registration process that begins each new school year for Y5-12th grade students.
We will be using the Skyward Family Access system to complete all necessary back to school tasks again this year. This step-by-step online registration process will allow you to see your assigned classroom teacher and related welcome letter, verify student emergency contact information, update necessary health alerts, access and review the school handbook, the acceptable use technology policy, parental consent for Google Apps account, FERPA forms, food service applications, and the concussion awareness form.
I would like draw your attention to a new part of the registration process called “Parental Consent for Google Apps Accounts.” It is very important during the registration process that parents allow their child to have access to a Google Apps for Educators (GAFE) account. Without this account, students will not be able to our use our new Chomebook labs, or log in to other web-based computer labs in the building. Additionally, students without a GAFE account will not have access to important educational technology applications, nor the ability to send or receive assignments and communications electronically to his or her teacher. The GAFE email account only allows students to communicate with Holly Area Schools teachers and employees who also have a GAFE account. In other words, no one from outside of Holly Area Schools can contact our students via their GAFE email account.
This online process will be available beginning August 1st. Once 2016-2017 schedules/class lists have been posted, they are available for viewing for those that have completed their registration process.
If you are not currently a regular Skyward Family Access user, please prepare now by LOGGING ON TO SKYWARD FAMILY ACCESS with your user name and password to ensure that you are able to successfully log into the system. Each parent has his or her own Family Access login and password. A log in includes first initial + last name + three digits (example: khempton000)
If you do not have your Family Access account information, please contact our main office prior to June 24th if you require assistance. You may also email family.access@has-k12.org
All documentation must be completed online prior to the start of the 2016-2017 school year. To complete the updates and verify review of necessary forms, you will click ‘complete registration’. You will then receive an email confirming your registration. If you do not have computer access, please be aware that Skyward Family Access is available from a mobile device and that we will also have computer stations available for assistance on September 1st during our “Meet the Teacher” event.
The how-to document for Online Registration can be found on the Skyward Family Access link from the Holly Area Schools district web site: http://www.has-k12.org
