Class Mission
Our Week
We had a great first FULL week of kindergarten! I am so blessed to spend my days with each and every one of your sweet children! Be sure to check Class Dojo to see all of the fun learning we have done! I love seeing your "likes" and comments!
Thank you for sending your child's name tag to school everyday! From now on, they do not need to wear it. If your child rides the bus, make sure they can answer the question, "which bus do you ride?"
You may notice that a lot of the papers coming home with your child may not be completed and I may have not checked them. Every morning your child will bring home "morning work" and they only get as much done as they have time for. So, if your child eats breakfast or gets here right before the bell rings at 8:30, then they will probably not have time to complete this page and that's okay! This would be something fun to complete at home if you would like. Also, any work they do at stations I will not check. This is another part of the day they may not have time to complete their work and that is okay.
You will notice that I am starting to put in more "points" for class dojo. This is to let you know about your child's behavior and keep them accountable so that you are able to talk with them about home about it. If your child gets a "participation" point, this means they were sitting correctly and I called them up to do something like circle a letter, point to the ABC chart, etc.
If your child needs to go home a different way than usual (example - ride the bus rather than be picked up) you must call the office to let them know before 3:00 or send a note with your child in the morning and I will give it to the office. I do not take care of transportation changes, so please do not email me or message me on class dojo about it. I may have a sub or not have time to check my email during the day, and we want to make sure your child is taken care of. Thank you!

Reading Goal: Over 90% of students will be able to identify all uppercase and lowercase letters by November. (We are currently at 0%)

Leader in Me
You will hear our school talking a lot about "Leader in Me" and I will be giving you more information as time goes on. We focus on 7 habits of highly effective children, and so far I have introduced the first 6 to our class.
1. Be Proactive (stop, think, make good choices)
2. Begin with the end in mind (have a goal)
3. Put First Things First
4. Think Win-Win
5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood
6. Synergize
Next week we will learn about habit 7 - Sharpen the Saw.
School Wide Information
Note from the nurse:
Parents please make sure your child has a full change of clothing at school. Shirt, pants, underwear and socks. If your child does need a change of clothing, the nurse will send dirty clothes home in a walmart bag in your child's backpack. Please return clean clothing with student the following day. Thank you !
Nurse Lisa
Our school collects Box Tops year round. If you have Box Tops at home please send them in at any time. Box Tops can be found on hundreds of product packages. Our school earn 10 cents for every Box Top, which adds up quickly!
