Updates on this week's events
I am sending out this newsletter a little early this week because we have two events coming on Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday beginning at 5pm the Kasilof Eagles are partnering with our PTO to have a Trunk or Treat event in our parking lot. There will be decorations and goodies and a new treat to our event this year, A Haunted Bus (the haunted bus is sponsored by the Skyview Honor Society and will be here from 5pm to 6:30pm.) Don't wait until the last minute, though, if the weather is too cool or wet, and the number of kids starts to dwindle, we may close up early.
On Friday night, we have the Carnival! If you volunteered to bring a cake for the cake walk or to help with a booth, please show up by 5:15 because the funs starts at 5:30. I would like to thank our PTO for all the work they have already done. There are already over 50 items in the raffle, several game booths, food court, and even a "split the pot" raffle.
Get up an hour later next week
Beginning Saturday night, the mornings will be longer, but the nights will be shorter. Please don't forget to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night.
The idea of daylight saving time was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 during his stay in Paris. He published an essay titled “An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light” that proposed to economize the use of candles by rising earlier to make use of the morning sunlight.
