St. Luke Weekly SMORE
December 2, 2022
Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
The second candle on the Advent wreath this week represents peace. As we light the second candle of the advent wreath we think about how Jesus has brought us peace in so many ways. We can look at how we can be peacemakers and bring others to see the peace of God in their lives. We often refer to the Christ Child as the Prince of Peace. We exchange a sign of peace during Mass. We pray for peace in our world, our families, our selves. We assume that God's reign will be one of Peace on Earth.
Peace with others begins as we understand that God has called us to be peacemakers in our world. Is there somewhere in your own world where you can be a peacemaker this Christmas? Is there an invitation that needs to be extended to smooth over a fractured family relationship? Is there an apology to be made or a silence to be broken that has stood as a barrier for too long? Don’t miss the blessing God promises in your life as you respond to his call to be a peacemaker in your own circle.
This week challenge yourself and your child(ren) to make peace in your hearts and to take a moment to say a prayer for those in need of peace in their lives.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
And where there is sadness, only joy._
Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand. To be loved as to love with all my heart.
For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Have a wonderful second week of Advent!

OUR DAILY ADVENT CELEBRATIONS
IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE!
Please have your child at the school no later than 6:15pm and they need to go directly to their homeroom. Their teacher will bring them into the gym from there. Please note that the attire for your child remains the same: white top (no slogans please) and back trousers/skirt.
There will be an opportunity for photography before the show starts, as well as after. However, photos or video taking during the show is not allowed.
We understand that changing a date is extremely difficult as families prepare for events such as these, and this decision was not undertaken lightly. We are trying to accommodate the best we can for our students here at STL. We can't wait for you to join us in celebrating the Birth of our Lord, Jesus with our little show
