In The Know With TPELC
January 2016 Edition
Let's Give a Warm Welcome to Our Pre-K Teacher Miss Shannon Marcolini
I moved to Kendallville in late August from Chicago where I was a nanny and a hair stylist. In Chicago I attended school for Early Childhood Education. I plan to pick back up on my studies this fall. I applied to TPELC because I had a daughter at a young age who is now adopted. I have a heart for teen parents and feel as though I would have a connection to the teen parents at TPELC. I believe this will be a great fit for me. I do not have children at home but my house is a small zoo! I Have two dogs one mutt, a boarder collie, as well as a cat and a rabbit that take up most of my free time. When I do have free time I enjoy hiking with my dogs, riding horses, reading books, and watching most sports but mainly the Ravens! I look forward to meeting all of you!
On the MOVE With Infants
A new year for new adventures! The infant room is starting this year off on the go. Two of our infants have come back to school moving like they've never moved before! One infant is now crawling! The other has started walking! Their independence is growing every day as they adventure into new activities. Such as, exploring their curiosity of sounds, textures and movements. The excitement of 2016 will bring many more challenges for the infants to explore as they transition into becoming toddlers!
Toddler News
2016 already! I hope you all had a wonderful break! This January the toddler class is looking forward to reading, learning and talking about SNOW......hopefully mother nature cooperates. The children are also celebrating everyday milestones such as, drinking out of regular cups with no sippy lids, watching their vocabulary blossom and learning to cooperative play with one another. I see many more accomplishments and milestones to be reached on the 2016 horizon.
Delays & Closings
I believe old man winter may have finally arrived to Indiana. Please remember that TPELC follows the East Noble School Corp. schedule for delays and closings. If East Noble has a 2 hour delay we will open our doors at 9:15 and on the chance of a 3 hour delay we will open at 10:15. On a 3 hour delay we will stay open until 4:15 for high school parents and teachers. If East Noble should close we will also be closed.
*** Please bring hats, coats, gloves, and boots (if there's snow). When the temperature permits we go outside.
