Grades
I need to let you all know that beginning this year the symbol with a grade to indicate that the grade cannot be used for averaging is now “&”. The Academy HS has added A+ and B+ as grades beginning with their 9th graders this year. So we had to change our symbol for the grades that cannot be averaged.
The + grades in the past will remain as + grades. So you will continue to see those and then the new & grades on the transcripts.
District Survey
Every three years, Internal Audit conducts a district wide risk assessment for all programs/departments. As part the overall process, we are asking employees to fill out a survey to assess the control environment (communication, ethics, environment, etc.). We have worked very closely with the district’s Google experts to ensure employee responses are completely anonymous.
Please use the link below to complete this survey by December 15, 2016. This survey can be taken from any device. There are 34 questions total and it should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Your response is very important to Internal Audit and your time is greatly appreciated.

Extra Cash
The $500 one-time lump sum payment approved as part of the 2016-17 Compensation Package will be included in paychecks for all eligible staff in the December paycheck.
A summary of the eligibility criteria is:
1. Employed by Plano ISD as of the last contract/work day of 2015-16 as a regular employee (not substitute or temporary)
2. Earned a TRS creditable year of service for 2015-16 {worked a minimum of 90 days}
3. Is assigned to a budgeted, allocated position as of the first contract/work day for 2016-17
4. Is still employed in a budgeted allocated position as of November 30 ,2016
The payment will be prorated based upon the full-time equivalent (FTE) percentage of employment status with the district as of November 30, 2016.
Campus News
Because our student with special needs is demonstrating behaviors that may result in entering classroom, we need you to keep your doors closed and locked during the day. All of our students in our Centralized Structure Classroom (CSC ) have a paraprofessional assigned to them at all times. Because of strict laws, we can't physically restrain a student from leaving a classroom nor lock a student in a classroom. In the event a student is able to leave the CSC, we will:
1. close all the security doors leading to the pod
2. alert you with an announcement over the intercom to check your email with instructions/additional information.

Final Exam Tutorial Bus
We will offer a tutorial bus during exam week. Bus will depart at 4:15.
Incompletes
Only students with medical or psychological documentation may be given an "incomplete." Any recorded "incomplete" grade on a student report card must be cleared by Dana. If a student has an issue you believe justifies the incomplete, you must communicate the concern to an administrator before you record the grade. If approved, All “I's” posted on a report card (without medical and/or psychological documentation) must be cleared up by the next progress report.
