September 21st Late Start

Just a reminder that Tuesday September 21st is our first late start of the school year. This will impact students schedules in a few ways. Our first bell will ring at 9:50 am and our start of the day bell will be at 10:00 am. Please note that we will not serve breakfast on late start days. Students will also run a modified Specialists and Lunch schedule. If you are interested in child care for the morning use the link below to register your child.

COVID Testing Starting Sept 20th

Hello Jefferson Families,

Below is the link that details how you can access COVID testing for your family starting Sept. 20th. Also listed are the most current health and safety guidelines for the MDH and CDC.

Current District 77 Health Guidance (Click Here) are from the Minnesota Department of Health Best Practices for COVID-19 Prevention in Schools and the Centers for Disease Control - Guidance for COVID-19 Prevention in K-12 Schools.

MASK Reminder

Please send your child to school with a mask everyday. If we are proactively sending students to school with masks it will help our mask reservation supply to last longer. Thank you for your support!

Wellness Week Details

Oct. 4th- 8th is Wellness Week . Wellness Week is brought to you in collaboration with Mayo Clinic Health System and focuses on promoting all aspects of a maintaining a healthy life style. Linked below is a outline of the week's activities. Please note on Wednesday Oct. 6th is "Walk, Bike or Move" day. We will be promoting physical health by handing out special reflectors to all students for being active. Traditionally, this has been a day that some students have walked/biked to school to be mindful of their physical health. All students will have the chance to walk the ALPS trail that day weather permitting to show mindfulness towards physical health.

Jefferson Jog

It is time for the annual Jefferson Jog fundraiser. The Jefferson Jog has been our fall tradition over the years with an emphasis on health, school spirit, and fun. The event has become our big fundraiser allowing the PTO to support our school in various ways. The 2021 goal focuses on the purchase and installation of playground equipment this year! Fundraising details will be coming home with your student next week. In the meantime you can register your child using this link .The Jefferson Jog will take place on October 8 from 1:00-2:00 pm at school. So mark your calendars as we encourage families to join in the fun and cheer on the students. PTO Meeting Sept 21st

Our first PTO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday September 21st. This is a great opportunity for our home and school community to come together to co-plan on how to support the students and staff at Jefferson. Details about the event are linked below.

School-Wide Title I Site

Jefferson Elementary continues to be a school wide Title I building. We are fortunate to have resources and additional staff in place to support all students. Some of the funding we receive is connected to our free and reduced lunch student population. If you are a family that qualifies for this program please fill out the form below. Back Pack Power Pack

The BackPack and Power Pack Food Programs are free programs providing students in grades K-8 with weekend food packs containing breakfast, lunch and a snack for each day off of school. As of right now, food packs will be delivered weekly directly to a students backpack while they are at lunch or on break. Sign up today to give your child an additional boost of nutrition.

We are looking to supplement our rainy day and two late start activities supplies. If you have new or gently used board or card games, puzzles, coloring or activity books, building blocks, or Legos please drop them off in the office.
