A Note from Mrs. Vahle

Wow - thank you so much for all of the love you poured into our teachers and staff in the month of February! We have such amazing families at Boone Trail and I cannot express how appreciative I am of all your support for our staff, students, and school. We're finishing up Share the Love this week with over 275-and-counting shout outs to our staff! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

While you have been Sharing the Love, our staff has been focusing on celebrating our students. Through Wolf Pup Wows, we recognize students for showing the Wolf Pup Way: Respect, Responsibility, and Care. We are only halfway through third quarter and our staff has written 280 Wows! To put that number in perspective, our Second Quarter final total was 134. Our students are doing great things!

Check out the photos throughout this newsletter to see some of the students we celebrated this month.

I want to take a moment to celebrate our students and staff for their patience, calmness, and behavior during the Tornado Warning last week. Because we regularly practice safety drills, the students knew what to do and responded quickly. Our staff did a great job of calming students who felt anxious. We had classes singing songs together and doing math lessons in the bathroom to help pass the time and keep their minds off of the weather. It was another great example of how our BTE community shows up for each other!

Lastly, Our Coffee and Conversation Series continues on March 13-immediately following the PTA meeting. We would love to see you there! So we know how much coffee to buy, please fill out this form. If you can't make it, we still want to hear from you! The form has a place for you to share your thoughts and suggest discussion items. We will base our agenda off of your input!

Thank you again for all of the support you provide our community of learners!

-Julie

Teacher Trait Request Form

One of our top priorities as we plan for the 2023-2024 school year is creating a positive learning environment for your child. If you would like to share your input on what traits you would like to see in your child's teacher, we will be sending out a Google Form on March 6. The form will close on March 24. You may also write a letter and send it in to the attention of Julie Vahle. We ask that you do not name specific teachers in your request.

Birthday Treats

In order to keep our students with allergies safe and to avoid spreading illness, when sending birthday treats, please only send small, store-bought, individually pre-packaged snacks. Please do not send snacks that are time consuming to serve, or require cutting, such as birthday cakes or large birthday cookies. Prepackaged hostess snacks, candy, etc… are good choices. All food and drink brought into school must be approved by the classroom teacher ahead of time (email is the best way to get it approved), due to classroom allergies. We highly recommend sending in non-food items such as erasers, pencils, and other non-distracting items.
