Dear Everitt Families:

Happy Thanksgiving! As we wrap up our month focused on gratitude, I'm thinking about the many things that I am grateful for at Everitt. In recent conversations with our staff, I asked them what has been inspiring to them so far this year. Almost every staff member I asked talked about specific students who have shown incredible grit or courage or curiosity or growth or kindness. Every day, I am inspired by someone in our community. Today I was inspired by the 6th-grade parents who didn't hesitate to help us unload buses full of sleeping bags, duffels, and pillows from Outdoor Lab. I'm so grateful for all of you!

We will be holding an information night at Everitt on Monday, December 5th for families who would like to learn more about Everitt. Please send your friends and family our way. We would love to share with them about our school and have them join our community! I will continue to give tours to families every Wednesday at 1:00 pm. If that time does not work for families, I am happy to schedule another time.

I hope you have a wonderful, restful week with your families. If you feel like it, send me an email about what you are all thankful for.

Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

THANKSGIVING BASKET THANK YOU

When it comes to strengthening our community, there are always angels that collaborate with us to be able to support our families. I want to thank every single member of the Michael Baker International team and Jeffco Eats for being so generous and supporting 30 of our families with Thanksgiving dinners. We are grateful to have partnerships like these in our community.

Sincerely,

Mr. Solis, Family Liaison

SERVICE LEARNING CLASS TOY DRIVE

Thank you to everyone who made our donation to Foothills Animal Shelter such a success! Besides all the pet items collected, we were able to raise $700 to donate to the shelter.

Our next Service-Learning class project is partnering with Karlis Family Center-Family Tree and we will be hosting a Toy Drive for children ages 4-12 from November 28 - December 15, 2022.

We are hoping to provide Family Tree with toys such as dolls, stuffed animals, toy cars, books, markers, crayons, sport balls, etc. for their Hope for the Holidays campaign and bring Christmas cheer to homeless children in our area. Please help us by donating one toy and placing it in our collection box.

Thank you so much for supporting our class and Family Tree.

Sincerely,

Your Service-Learning Class

PTA (Parent Teacher Association) CORNER:

Our focus is on building lasting connections between families, getting to know our student’s teachers, and creating opportunities to come together as a community, valuing our diversity and celebrating our differences.

As we head into Thanksgiving break, I want to share that I am thankful for such a great community that includes our students, staff and families! We have helped with Thanksgiving baskets for those who can use some extra help and are gearing up for our annual Giving Tree, the week we get back. Your kids will come home with information on the sticker design contest after we are back as well! I hope everyone gets some time to enjoy their loved ones and give thanks for what is important to each of us.

All the minutes from the meeting will be posted on our PTA page shortly here:

Celebrations!

Mr. Solis - Thank you for working so hard to organize Thanksgiving baskets for Everitt families. We love you!

Brady F. - Thank you for having a perspective 5th grade student shadow you during your classes. Your positive attitude and willingness to answer questions made the student feel welcomed at Everitt.

Emmanuel D. - Manny is one of the first people I see near the student drop off every day. He is always so kind and makes me appreciate every day at Everitt. I look forward to seeing him and visiting throughout the day during passing periods and at lunch. Manny's welcoming and positive attitude extends to other students as well. His leadership is greatly appreciated.

Taylor G. - Taylor always works hard on the morning announcements. I love seeing her in the hallways documenting with her coworkers.
