Air duct cleaning is an investment on your health, the air you breathe can affect your health and the ones you love. We are an honest company, we will show you what we get out of your system.
Four major reasons to clean your air ducts:1. Cleanliness. When using HEPA-unit to clean the average air duct system, it is not uncommon to remove several pounds of dust, dirt, and debris from older homes. (Total Health Magazine).2. Safety. Bacteria, viruses, fungi, dust mites, and decaying organic matter are sent airborne throughout your home from their hiding places in your ducts.3. Health. Air duct systems are home to many substances that can aggravate symptoms such as allergies and asthma. The dark moist interior of your air duct system creates the perfect environment for fungi, bacteria, and mold to proliferate.4. Energy Savings. Accumulated debris can restrict the air flow in your ducts, making your system work harder to heat and cool your home. The EPA has estimated that 0.0042 inches (about the thickness of a sandwich wrap) of dust on a heating or cooling coil, results in a decrease in efficiency of 21%
How We Work:Step 1 - Count the vents and furnaces We can give you an estimate over the phone. When we get to your house and before we begin any work, we first count the number of vents and furnaces. We then confirm the price with the customer and get the price approved before proceeding.
Step 2 - Preparation for Air Duct Cleaning: We then proceed to test the Air Conditioning System for proper operation. We then disconnect the power at the furnace for safety. Then we open your A/C unit, and then we connect our negative air machine. (at the end of the cleaning, we seal the A/C unit).
Step 3 -- Clean the Supply and Return Register and Grills. We will remove wall, ceiling and floor registers and clean with a brush, simple green cleaner, and rinse. At this time we will put sponges in place of the vents to seal the air conditioning system.
Step 4 -- Clean the Supply and Return Ducts. The supply and return networks are "zoned" or separated, so they can be cleaned independently. This is typically done by removing the furnace filter, inserting it into a plastic bag and reinserting it into the furnace. We also make two access holes, one in the supply side and one on the return side. Then we turn on our negative air machine, it then creates high velocity air movement within the supply ductwork to transport loosened dirt and contaminants out of the ductwork and into the vacuum's filtration/collection system. Each branch is cleaned separately starting with the branch farthest from the negative air machine. The register and boot areas are blasted with compressed air using our special air booster gun and poly brush. We then brush your ducts from the furnace and use our back sweep air hose to get everything sucked into the negative air machine.
Step 5 -- Clean Coils and Supply and Return Plenums. Then we clean the cooling coils with a HEPA vacuum and a coil cleaning chemical. We use the most efficient equipment and techniques to get the job done properly, after cleaning the cooling coils it will insure more efficiency for your a/c unit.
Step 6 -- Sanitize and Deodorize Ducts. We sanitize and deodorize all supply and return ducts and thru vents using an Automist fogger while negative air pressurizing all ducts. The product we use is Envirocon which is an EPA approved Biocide. EnviroCon is a Deodorizer, bacteriostat, and fungistat. It is registered by the EPA as a category IV the lowest available EPA toxicity rating. It eliminates allergens, contaminants, bad odors, etc.
Step 7 -- Seal all Supply and Return Plenums, and Reinstall Grills and RegistersWe then reconnect any supply or return plenums removed and reinstall all cleaned registers and grills. If an access hole was created it will be covered with sheet metal, securely screwed, and sealed with professional mastic duct tape to create an airtight seal.
Step 8 -- Test system and cleanup. The system will be turned on and tested for proper operation. Then all working areas are cleaned and cleaning equipment is removed from the job site- Leaving you with nothing to remember us by except clean, fresh air.
Step 9 -- Final walk through with customer. We than perform a finale walk through with the customer to ensure that he is satisfied with the job performed by Eko Fresh Cleaning. We look forward to talking with you (678) 668-9908!
