- Breakfast is served beginning at 7:15. If your student needs to eat breakfast here at school, please get them here in enough time to eat and be in class at 7:40.
- We are making every effort to make every day and every minute count here at school. Student attendance is VERY important. Please make every effort to get students to school everyday unless they are ill. Read Texas attendance laws here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hnYlpuMD-UdrBoZUc8WhnGtkHUnGZ8h19bF75632gUQ/edit?usp=sharing
Student Absence Notifications
Parents can now enter a future absence through Family Access. *Please note that an absence note still has to be sent to the office via paper or email.
To enter future absences in family access, go to absence requests. This will notify the school that the student will be absent.
4th Grade Writing STAAR Test
The 4th Grade Writing STAAR test will be held on: Tuesday, April 6th
In preparation for this day and to help ensure our 4th grade students success, we ask the following:
- Your child attends school and is on time if at all possible.
- Your child goes to bed early the night before test days.
- Your child eats a good breakfast. Breakfast is currently free for all students and is served beginning at 7:15.
- Offer words of encouragement to help reduce any test anxiety students may be feeling.
- Encourage your child to do their best and take their time on their tests.
We appreciate your cooperation and support!
Progress Report Cards go home, Thursday, 4/22
Progress Reports go home in Orange Folders on Thursday, April 22nd.
This is NOT a report card. Progress Reports are sent home the fifth week, during the nine week grading period, and inform students and families of how a student is progressing. There are still four more weeks remaining in the grading period before report cards are sent home.
Please view the report card, sign, and return it to school.
Approved 2021-2022 SISD School Year Calendar *Please note that this calendar is for NEXT school year

Reminders Regarding Arrival Procedures
- Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:15 a.m.
- When dropping students off, please pull up as far as you can before allowing your student to exit the car. This will assist in keeping traffic from backing up on Reno Rd.
- Breakfast is served from 7:15-7:40 a.m.
- Tardy bell rings at 7:40.
- If students are dropped off after 7:40, they will need to be escorted into the office by a parent to ensure the student makes it into the building, as there will no longer be adults located outside since school has started.
Thursday Orange Folders
- Upcoming events
- Graded papers
- Progress Reports (every 5th week of the 9 weeks). This will let you know the progress your student is making before the report card is sent home the 9th week of school.
- Report Cards every nine weeks.
- Other important school announcements
Dismissal Reminders
- Dismissal is averaging 16-20 minutes. We will continue to get faster!
- Please have your car tag visible for the caller.
- For the safety of our students, we will not release students to cars without tags. If you do not have your car tag, please park in the front parking lot and come into the building to pick up your student.
- If you need to buckle car seats, etc. please pull into the parking lot.
A Change of Clothes
Because there can be accidents, such as tears or spills, it may be a good idea to pack a change of clothes for your child in his or her backpack. Though we do have some extra clothing available, we do not have every size.
For younger kids who haven't fully grasped potty training, may also want to include a small package of baby wipes as well.
Water Bottles and Face Masks
- Water bottles ensure that students do not have to drink from the water fountain and risk spreading/receiving germs. Instead, they can use our filtered water bottle fillers to fill their water bottles.
- Face Masks are being worn in hallways and in restrooms. This helps reduce the spread of germs from class to class. Please make sure your child has a clean mask daily.
