Developing a community of leaders for a better world.
THINGS TO KNOW...
- Please remember to sign up for a goodie to bring for the Volunteer Appreciation Bar Tuesday. You can drop your items off in the community room Tuesday morning - thank you for helping make our volunteers feel special!!!
- We will have visitors on campus from Royal ISD Monday. They will be observing the DL program.
- We will be starting our cookie dough fundraiser Wednesday. This is a school fundraiser and helps us buy the things that the staff needs - please promote/encourage your class to participate - it really DOES help!!!!
- Based on your feedback, we will be moving the protected planning day for math from Wednesday to Tuesday - this will allow Support folks to meet with you to collaborate on supporting students!!!
Happy Birthday...

Behavior Byte - Body Language
- We instinctively read each other's body language in order to predict what the other person is going to do next.
- Body Language "telegraphs" our real thoughts, feelings, and intentions whether we want it to or not. The students read us like a book.
- Since we telegraph the thoughts and feelings that precede action, the students are really reading our minds.
- Our priority at all times is that discipline comes before instruction. Until this issue is resolved in our minds, our body language will betray our ambivalence.
- Only when you commit your time and attention to the problem will the students begin to take you seriously.

Intrinsic Motivation
Next Tuesday after school Carolyn will facilitate an "after school learning opportunity" about the TEKS scaffolds found in lead4ward. This is an easy and informative way to look at reading, math, and science TEKS vertically. Anyone interested? Bring your laptop over to the third grade area about 3:10 and join me in exploring this resource.

SHOUT OUTS...
- A most thankful shout out to the incredible 4th grade team for the dedication of ensuring that there was a plan for Mrs. Greene's class during her emergency absence. In addition to the 4th grade team and the organization of Mrs. Greene, Mary Hoofnagle, Susan Hansen, and Amy Johnson all stepped in to help teach and guide me throughout the day. Success was made because of the many cooks in the kitchen! -Tracy
Shout out to Jessica Bohne who smoothly transitioned into her new role as our Bil IC and immediately jumped into the role by continuing to assist us in planning and working with us in our kinder readers workshops. She has waisted no time in trying to get as much done before baby Bohne's arrival. We are so grateful for all she does and so excited for her new mommy adventure. :) - Gloria
