Mrs. Lisa Lovelady

Mrs. Lisa Lovelady was one of a kind! And, her name fit her perfectly! She loved teaching, loved learning and loved her students. What a lady, indeed! Mrs. Lovelady brightened the room and cheered up everyone around her with that laugh, that Ridgy Pride and that encouraging spirit. We will miss her terribly and treasure our amazing memories.

Friday Store- Bring your Dollar!

The Ridgy Store is open every Friday! Bring your dollar to purchase all kinds of fun items! The money from the Ridgy Store goes to the ECC Activity Account and helps us to not have to sell "door to door items" such as candy bars, cookie dough, etc. Thank you!

Check your backpacks for Smart Dismissal Car Tags, backpack tags and important notes! We are almost ready to kickoff our new Safe Dismissal Program. There is a QR code on your tag. You DO NOT need to do anything with it. We've already registered you. Simply hang your tag on your car rearview mirror. Send your child with his/her backpack every day. Thank you!

Good News Call of the Day

When your phone rings and that caller ID says Grove Public might just be Mrs. Bloss giving you a shout with the Good News Call of the Day! Good News Call of the Day Winners are students who go above and beyond and are nominated by Kindergarten Teachers. Students get to hear Mrs. Bloss brag about them and have their picture taken. One goes on the Good News Wall of Fame and a copy goes home in the backpack.

Ridgy Ready Tickets

Above is a picture of our Ridgy Ready Ticket Tubs that sit in the hall. Each day, students are rewarded with Ridgy Ready Tickets when they show they are Responsible, Respectful and Safe. Tickets are drawn for prizes on Ch. 97. Classes also work to win rewards together such as bubble parties. When a child is drawn out of the tub for Ch. 97, the ticket is sent home with a small prize so that the parent can celebrate too :)

Building Visitors

Due to safety concerns, visitors will not be allowed inside our building after the OPEN HOUSE on August 17th. This has been a very difficult decision as we have always had pride in offering a warm, welcoming environment to families and visitors. This means your child will need to be (1) dropped off and picked up in the car line, (2) dropped off at the front door and picked up in the car line or (3) ride the bus. Whether you choose to drop your child off at the front door or in the car line, please have their Temp Ticket ready to give to the staff member on duty. This will allow your child quick entry into the building. Remember- ALL students need to be picked up in the car line unless they ride a bus or go to daycare. No students may be picked up at the front doors or cafeteria doors in person.

If you should need to pick up your child early for an appointment, please call prior to the appointment so that we may have your child waiting in the office. You will then need to call when you arrive at school and we will meet you in front of the building with your child. Early check outs will not be permitted after 2:30 p.m. Make your plans accordingly and always call the office ahead. Remember- we do not change transportation plans for children after 1:30 p.m.

Birthdays are a special time for our students and we want to celebrate them! You may send special snacks to school with your child that are store bought. You may check your child out for lunch but please call ahead so that we may have them waiting to be picked up. Watch Ch 97 for your child's birthday recognition and check his/her backpack for our birthday book gift.

In the event that a parent needs to conduct school business such as dropping off a forgotten backpack or lunchbox, please follow these guidelines:

  • Consider Wearing a Mask to protect our staff and students.
  • Stand behind the plastic shield in front of the help desk.
  • Should you need to visit with a teacher, you will need to call ahead and schedule an appointment during their planning period

Thank you for your patience, flexibility and cooperation this year as we do our best to keep our students, staff and our community safe, healthy and well.
