I Am Poem

Big Idea
This I Am poem creates a classroom environment that celebrates diversity as well as unity, by having students think about what makes them special and unique.
Directions
1. This activity can be used at any time during the school year, but is a great way to start the year off and build a great sense of classroom community.
2. Have classroom discussions about what makes each member of the class special and unique. Depth of discussions can vary based on grade level.
3. Students fill in poem.
4. Poem template can be modified or changed based on grade level or what you want students to focus on.
